Contract Terms: Nine month Salaried Position
Salary Classification: Certified, FLSA Exempt
Reports to: Building Administrator

Position Objective:
To help students overcome problems that impeded learning and to assist them in making
educational, occupational, and life plans that hold promise for their personal fulfillment as mature
and responsible men and women.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Works to resolve students educational handicaps
• Works as a liaison to assist parents and students with the educational process.
• Works to discover and develop special abilities of students
• Remains readily available to students so as to provide counseling that will lead each student
• to increased personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity.
• Works with students on an individual basis in the solution of personal problems related to
• such problems as home and family relations, health, and emotional adjustment.
• Works with the school administration and teachers to help the individual student thrive in the
• educational environment.
• Maintains student records and protects their confidentiality.
• Evaluation:
• Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy; the supervising
• principal shall evaluate counselor annually.
• Qualifications:
• Certificate, license or other legal credential required.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and
• acceptable.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work
